Long-time BCC member Mara Silverberg is offering a two-part Crocheting 101: Scarf-making class on January 7 and 14 from 2:30 - 5 pm (with a snack break). No experience is necessary. The class is free for BCC members and $10 per session for non-members.  (Five hours is not enough to make a complete scarf; you will have to continue working on it at home.)

You must pre-register by December 27. Materials will cost approximately $25, and you can either purchase them yourselves or pre-pay Mara (via Venmo: 818-970-5997), and she will get them for you. If you register after January 1st, you must purchase your own supplies. Please contact Mara for a list of necessary supplies.

JoAnn’s now sells seven different variegated Pride yarns under the Big Twist Living line.  They offer Authentic (Non-Binary), Community (Asexual), Confidence (Pansexual), Inclusivity (Traditional Rainbow), Life (Trans), Serenity (Bisexual), and Spirit (Lesbian Pride) flag colors.  It also comes in a variety of solid colors. You will need three skeins (rolls) of yarn for one scarf, a size I (5.5) crochet hook (ergonomic recommended), and a measuring tape.  Mara will supply stitch markers and tapestry needles.
